1894 - Georgetown University to-day celebrated its seventy-seventh annual commencement in the presence of many distinguished persons, including Vice President Stevenson and Cardinal Gibbons. Previous to the regular exercises, Cardinal Gibbons officiated at the unveiling of a bust of Judge William Gaston of North Carolina, the first student of the college, and after whom the public hall was named.
